James P. Scheider Jr. serves as Of Counsel to Vaux Marscher Berglind, P.A. A veteran attorney admitted to the South Carolina Bar in 1981, he brings decades of experience to the firm’s clients, with a practice centered on real estate and real property law — including real estate development, homeowners’ and community associations, and conservation easements — along with estate planning, trusts, and personal injury matters.

Mr. Scheider earned his B.A. from the University of South Carolina in 1970 and his Juris Doctor from George Mason University School of Law — now the Antonin Scalia Law School — in 1981. Earlier in life, he served in the United States Marine Corps.

He has remained active in the profession throughout his career, serving as president of the Hilton Head Island Bar Association in 1983–1984 and as a member of the South Carolina Bar House of Delegates from 1985 to 1993, in addition to his longstanding membership in the American Bar Association.
